This wonderful example wears like a Bolero. The mannequin on which it sits is a size 36 and can close comfortably. The lining is in good order for its age and although this is a fragile piece, it could be worn. Having decorative appeal, it could make for a beautiful display piece. The decorative lace over jet beads, gives this Mantlet depth and class. It also conceals sweet small shoulder pads that enable to lace to silhouette proudly on the shoulders.
The condition is reflective of its age and has been hand stitched/ repaired over the years and possibly used as a costume garment, giving this Mantlet additional charm and historical value. Labelled E.B. Hughes.
