Framed in Oak, this 1940's Glass Advertising Sign would have been on display in a local grocery shop or general store. Founded in the mid 19th Century by a chemist, Mazawatee became one of the largest tea companies in the world by the latter part of the century. The name derives from an amalgamation of Hindi and Sinhalese - meaning 'Please Garden' to describe the tea plantations.
